The Red Shtick Podcast, Episode 53: “Hang On, Sunny. We’ll Get to Miss America.”

Publisher Jeremy White hosts a somewhat hurried episode with contributors Sunny Weathers (who has an anniversary dinner to attend) and Knick Moore (who can’t wait to go home and finally play Grand Theft Auto V).

The boys start the show with a healthy discussion about the ghettoness of different Baton Rouge neighborhoods and how the ethnic landscape can drastically change within a block or two.

They then have fun with a story about a Baton Rouge police officer who’s been suspended for allegedly sucker punching a bouncer at a popular entertainment venue. Sunny explains why he’d never mess with another certain club’s bouncers.

Maybe Sunny would think this vandalism were funnier if it were set to "Yakety Sax."

The topic then shifts to the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity at LSU and its attempt to taunt Kent State football fans with a gameday sign referencing the 1970 Kent State Massacre. Sunny calls them hacks for using outdated material.

Sunny gets even more pissed when he finds out that people helped bail out a homeless guy who was arrested for defacing the 9/11 memorial in Lafayette with extremely well-drawn cutouts of exploding airplanes.

Finally, after Sunny false started several times in trying to broach the subject, the trio discusses the newly crowned Miss America, her Indian ethnicity, and the resulting racist backlash, including within Knick’s immediate family.

Other topics include the lifting of an HIV-prompted moratorium on porn production, an Orlando TV station’s apology for carrying Jacksonville Jaguar games, video games, and Knick’s upcoming inaugural gig as a wedding officiant. While he wouldn’t reveal who’s getting hitched, we’re hoping it’s Bicoastal Hootenanny costars Nathan Frizzell and Adam Wilson.
